Arts Council Camp FAQ
Art, Theater, Technology, Music, Creativity, and More!
Where is camp held?
CAC's camp is held in the Cranbury School, 23 North Main Street in Cranbury.
What are the ages for camp?
Children who will enter grades K-9 in September are welcome to register!
Can children who live outside Cranbury register?
Yes! Children from all communities are welcome. In past years, children from East Windsor, West Windsor, Princeton Junction, Robbinsville, Allentown, and other local towns have joined camp. We've even had a few visiting campers from out of state!
When will camp be held?
Please check back for camp dates.
When will registration begin?
Please check back for registration dates.
Why don't you offer camps through August?
CAC rents camp space from Cranbury School. To have the building ready for students in September, the school's facilities staff must complete a number of projects during the summer months. Camp runs only until the beginning of August so the school's staff has time to complete their work.
How many children are in each camp?
Each camp has a limited number of openings. For most camps, enrollment is limited to 12 campers. The average number of campers in each camp, excluding Musical Theater Workshop, is approximately 8-9.
Do camps fill?
Yes, each year, many camps fill well before the registration deadline, some within days or weeks of the beginning of registration. If your child would like to join a camp that's full, please contact us to have him or her placed on a waiting list. If an opening becomes available in a full camp, the space will be offered to wait-listed children in the order the wait-list request is received.
Is there a chance my wait-listed child will get into the camp he or she wants?
Openings do occur in filled camps. Sometimes campers' families change summer plans, or a camper decides to switch to a different camp. Occasionally, we are able to open an extra spot in a camp.
Openings occur in Musical Theater Workshop less frequently than in other camps, but it is possible a spot may become available.
Can you offer a second Musical Theater Workshop?
Planning and preparation for Musical Theater Workshop requires a substantial time commitment from the staff involved, and begins months before camp starts. The staff's focus on one show ensures campers will get the best possible experience.
Do you offer scholarships?
Both full and partial need-based scholarships are offered. Please contact us for more information. Scholarships must be requested before beginning registration. While our goal is to help as many families as possible, our scholarship fund is limited.
Can I register my child after camp starts?
We accept registrations for open camps up through the first day of each camp. However, registrations received after the regular registration deadline (5/31) will be charged a $25 per camp late fee.

*My child is attending a morning camp, but I can't pick him up until 12:30. Can he stay for lunch?
My child is attending an afternoon camp, but I'd like to bring her early. Can she come for lunch?
Yes. We provide the option of lunch supervision for children who have registered for a half day (a morning or afternoon camp). The lunch program is designed for children who need to stay after a morning camp, or come early for an afternoon camp, and will last from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Children will bring their own lunches and eat with other campers, then have indoor or outdoor recess time. The cost is $50 per week, and this option is available during registration. Supervision is only available to children registered for a CAC camp.
Lunch supervision is included for all full-day campers, and no separate lunch registration is required. Full-day campers may bring their lunches or leave camp grounds to get lunch if their parents have given permission.
*My child is attending Cranbury School ESY (or Summer Academy). Can she stay for lunch and recess at CAC?
Children attending the school programs are welcome to register for our lunch program from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Children will bring their own lunches and eat with other campers, then have indoor or outdoor recess time. The cost is $50 per week, and this program is available using our registration link. We are unable to supervise children during lunch who are not registered for the lunch program and a CAC camp.
Do you provide lunch?
No. Campers either bring their own lunches, or may leave camp grounds to get lunch in town if their parents have given permission. Campers who walk to town are not supervised.
